Summer Boothe Park Wedding

I was so nervous it was going to rain for Pat & Sam’s Boothe Park wedding, but fortunately as the big day approached the weather forecast cleared up! With the plans of an outdoor wedding and a backyard reception rain would have not helped at all.

We got ready at Sam’s parents house in Stratford and it was beautiful! There was some great natural light coming through the windows as Sam put on her beautiful dress. I love working with natural light as it is nice, soft and flattering. Working with artificial light sources can work great but it is tricky to mock natural.

It was a tough surprise to keep but Sam’s parents surprised her with a horse drawn carriage that brought her to Boothe Park. I played along as I headed over to the location of the carriage knowing that Sam would know something was up as it was a different direction than the park. It was a beautiful moment as Sam and her Dad took the carriage to Boothe Park where guests eagerly awaited.

So I love images where you can see the groom as the bride walks down the aisle and to get the over the shoulder view is tricky with one photographer. With Boothe Parks long aisle I was able to grab that shot and then quickly move forward for the hand off, win!

During the cocktail hour we took the family and bridal party images on the grounds. Given the time of day the light was fairly overhead so we found a lovely spot with shade and a nice background. After taking some photos of just Pat and Sam we returned to cocktail hour to mingle before going to our next location.

We went over to a family friends farm where we had the whole place to our selves which was amazing. The nice warm afternoon light made for some great images and of course the view was awesome!

We then traveled back to Sam’s parents house for the reception where they had a tent setup and a cool little shed for the bar. A live band rocked the night away as everyone had a great time.

Check out some of their images below or some of my other blog posts!
