R & K: Rustic Fall Wedding
Ryan & Kait had such a beautiful rustic fall wedding at Stonehurst at Hampton Valley! It was such an honor to photograph my Sister-in-laws wedding, but I’ll also admit a little nerve racking. I think I put extra pressure on myself for this one which can be a good thing as it pushes me to do better.
I kicked off the morning with Kait at the venue as she got ready in the bridal suite on site. It was nice to have extra time during this part of the day so I could utilize the building to showcase the dress and some of the other details. Once her dress was on we had some time for some portraits of just her inside of the bridal suite before the first look with her father. Dave is a funny guy so it didn’t really surprise me that he did a jump and spin for the reveal.
Now it’s time for the first look with Ryan when was held down by the river ceremony site which was nicely shaded. It was such a beautiful moment as they were both excited to see each other and it showed in their faces. We took some time after this to take some portraits of just the two of them. There was a really nice field filled with some flowers just a little walk from the first look location. Given it was fall I didn’t there would be many wildflowers but I was surprised by what I saw.
It’s not too often that I see people write their own vows so it was great to hear what they had written for each other. They also had their dog Bruce at the wedding as the ring bearer which was pretty awesome. I’ve had a lot of dogs are engagement session but to have them at a wedding is pretty brave (since white dress + dog could be a disaster) and awesome.
