Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station Winter Wedding

The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station is such a beautiful venue for a wedding and Kacie & Paul’s was no exception! The fact that is just right across the bridge in Haddam makes it even that much nicer for me. After putting on their final touches and of course Kacie getting into her beautiful wedding dress – Kacie, her bridesmaids and I went down to the Goodspeed Opera House to take some photos on the lawn overlooking the Connecticut River. It may have been sunny but it was freezing, the bridesmaids huddled together as I took some images of Kacie in front of the docks. After about 15-20 minutes of toughing it in the cold we went back to The Riverhouse to get some images of Paul and his groomsman before the ceremony and of course warm up a bit.

With it being too cold outside to have the ceremony on the patio area, they had their ceremony inside. The ceremony site at the venue was beautifully decorated with floral arrangements and a runner going down the center aisle. Upon exiting the ceremony they were surprised by a horse and carriage awaiting them outside which took them across the bridge back to the Opera House green where we were joined by the bridal party for some sunset portraits.

I always love when the DJ calls everyone out onto the dance floor for a large group photo of all the guests. As a photographer I try to capture everyone throughout the day, though it’s not always easy, so when the opportunity arises to get everyone at once I seize it. Everyone had such a great time dancing the night away and enjoying the party!
