M & K: Nathan Hale Homestead Wedding

I am incredibly grateful to have been able to photograph Matt & Katie’s wedding at Nathan Hale Homestead!! They had a beautiful ceremony of Grayville Park in Hebron with the reception at the Homestead. I’ve known Matt for years and he is actually one of the reasons I am doing what I love today.

I started the day with Katie and her bridesmaids at the Clifford Cheney Mansion in Manchester. Wow, this place is beautiful! The room that Katie chose to get ready in was full of windows which let in all of the morning light. The craftsmanship and details throughout the home brought so much character to the images, making it truly unique. I say this to all my couples but I’ll say it again here, consider a Airbnb for getting ready. They provide unique locations that have a much different feel than a hotel and also allow you to show off your personal taste as well.

After a few family photos at the mansion we headed over to Grayville Park in Hebron, CT for the ceremony. Matt & Katie didn’t want to see each other before the wedding ceremony but they did want to share a special moment so they had a first touch. They both stood on opposite sides of a big tree, held hands and got ready for the ceremony! This was such a great idea and of course a beautiful moment.

It was a nice surprise to take out the Hebron Fire Departments antique fire truck for a little spin after the ceremony to take some bridal party photos. Matt has been a volunteer with the department for a long time so it was very suiting to have photos with one of the trucks.
