Fall Riverview Wedding: Chris & Jill

After having Chris and Jill’s engagement session at City Steam Brewery in downtown Hartford I could just not wait for their Riverview wedding in Simsbury, CT! These two are just amazing, their chemistry is blatantly apparent and it definitely shows in their photos. We started the morning at Avon Old Farms Hotel in Avon, CT where both Jill and Chris got ready which made it easy to bounce back and fourth to capture them both as they prepared for their big day.

The lobby of the hotel was absolutely beautiful as it was decorated for Christmas. This is where we had their first look which was amazing. Jill came down the stair case as Chris waited “patiently” at the bottom for her, little did we know we had a few on lookers. Some of the bridesmaids looked down from the balconies above as they saw each other for the first time. The lobby was a wonderful and warm place for family photos which we took in front of the tree. When we got to the bridal party photos it was great to use the staircase that was entirely visible from the mail floor, you can check this out in the photos below.

The Riverview Wedding Ceremony, Portraits & Reception

After family portrait we went over to the Riverview for some more bridal party photos and some photos of Chris & Jill before they tied the knot. These two are naturals in front of the camera! I love to capture the connection between my couples and they made it super easy. Without needing any direction these two just made magic and pretty much read my mind as they switched “poses” to create beautiful images.

Jill’s father walked her down the aisle and before he gave her away he gave her a look that says it all. Moments like these make it hard to not tear up while photographing. The lighting for the ceremony was beautiful as they got married in front a large series of windows.

I always love when couples get to enjoy cocktail and mingle with their guests. This provides the opportunity to capture the interactions with guests without taking time away from the reception. DJ Keith Alan kept everyone on the dance floor for quite the party. Everyone had such a great time! It was nice to sneak outside for some night portraits and cool off from the heat of the dance floor. The pink up lighting of the venue made for a cool backdrop as it contrasted the darkness. Check out some of their images below and some more of my blog posts!
