Weekend Kitchen Engagement Session: Dan & Maeve

Oh my! This was one of my most creative engagement sessions to date! Dan & Maeve had their engagement session at Weekend Kitchen in Essex, CT. Dan & Maeve were one of the couples that won my engagement session giveaway contest over the winter and when speaking with them they mentioned that they loved to cook together and we thought it would be such a cool idea to have their session at a place that does cooking classes.

Downtown Essex

Fast forward a few weeks, we started to plan out their session and came in contact with Weekend Kitchen in Essex, CT who offered to let us use their beautiful kitchen for our session! We started the morning in Downtown Essex, which is such an amazing location with that historic New England charm. Main street offers white picket fences, historic homes/buildings and some amazing waterfront views at the Connecticut River Museum. A stroll down Main st. and back we stopped in for some coffee at Olive Oyl’s and the chance to get to know each other better, this is my favorite part of an engagement session. 

Weekend Kitchen

It was awesome to photograph in the Weekend Kitchen’s rustic looking kitchen! Outfitted with modern appliances the space still has that old charm with the wide plank floor boards. Though we may not have actually cooked anything, and you can tell based on the interesting ingredients used for the photos, we still had a great time!
