G & K: Fall Riverhouse Wedding

As 2019 starts to come to an end I had the pleasure of spending the day with Greg & Kim at their fall Riverhouse wedding! These two are such a blast to be around making their day absolutely amazing! I always have such a great time at the Riverhouse, it’s one of my favorite wedding venues – This is only slightly due to the fact that their 10 minutes away from my house but more importantly the staff there is awesome! From the beginning of your planning they help guide you through the process making sure everything goes off without a hitch. On the day of the wedding they help keep everything on time and make sure your are well taken care of.

We started the day at the hotel, like most days, which is a great time of day, not only for the bride but also for myself. This is the first impression I get to make on the some of the people that are closest to the bride so gaining their trust early is imperative for them to be able to act natural in front of the camera. This isn’t easy for everyone as they feel they should be doing something at every moment. I try to help put them at ease so I am not considered just the photographer, I am there to help and make sure the day runs smooth.

We went straight from the hotel to Eagle Landing State Park which is a great spot for a first look especially this time of year when there is less of a chance of having a boat parked on the docks. We had their first look on one of the docks overlooking the Opera House and the Connecticut River. It was such a beautiful moment as it brought them both to tears, they were so excited and a little nervous to see each other.

After some family formals and some pictures of the bride and groom we went back up to the Riverhouse to get ready for their ceremony. It’s always a little risky planning for a fall outdoor wedding but the temperature was nice so the guests were comfortable. They had a nice little celebration in from of the Riverhouse after the ceremony with their wedding party and close family.

They shared in a beautiful first dance before sitting down for speeches given by the best man, maid of honor and the father of the bride which was a funny speech that welcomed Greg into their family and gave him their teams hat to wear.
