J & N: Fall Castle Wedding
Such a perfect day for Jim & Natalie’s fall castle wedding at Saint Clements Castle in Portland, CT. It was such a blast getting to know Jim & Natalie over the course of their wedding, from their engagement photos through the planning.
We started out the day at the hair and makeup room of the hotel where Natalie got ready with some of her best friends and mom. She waited to put on her dress at Saint Clements which is always a great idea as it doesn’t seem to comfortable to travel wearing one. Once she was ready to go I popped over to Jim’s room for a few minutes to grad some images of him getting ready before heading over to the venue.
The newly redone bridal suite at Saint Clements was a great spot to photograph the details of the day. After some images of the details and the dresses Natalie put on her dress with a little help from mom in front of the beautiful window overlooking the front of the castle.
They decided to not have a first look so we took some portraits of the guys before the ceremony to try and alleviate some time during cocktail hour so they could mingle with family and friends. The ceremony was located on the Waterford side of the castle which overlooks the water for some beautiful views. The dance floor was packed the entire night and everyone had a great time celebrating these two!
The reception was a blast! It’s not every wedding that the mother of the bride gets up on stage and sings and the father of the bride jams out on the bass guitar! This was an awesome moment to capture as Jim & Natalie looked onward from the dance floor.
