D & T: Winter Millwright’s Wedding

I love photographing at Millwright’s and Dustin & Tara’s wedding was no exception. This is actually a pretty tricky place to photograph in as it’s all wood and in front of the ceremony space are big windows which they stand in front of to get married. Trying to keep out of the reflection, not only myself but my lights as well is no easy feat. It was a success nonetheless!

We started out the day at the Simsbury 1820 House which was a perfect location for getting ready. The space had plenty of room and light which made for a great time. The couple’s daughter was also there to get ready with as and she did so great in front of the camera. Once everyone was ready we walked over to the main building where Dustin was awaiting the first look with Tara. Since Charlotte, their daughter, made it over before Tara we decided to have an impromptu first look with her which was definitely worth it! Tara made her way across the parking lot for her first look and it was just as magical as with their daughter.

For a fun little trip we went over to a little pull off on Nod road which provided a nice view of the Heublein Tower as well as some amazing light that was coming through the trees. You really can take photos anywhere when you know what to look for.

After some time on the side of the road we went over to Millwrights for the ceremony and reception. Everyone was amazed by how beautiful the location was inside and out.
