C&M: Summer Riverhouse Wedding
Craig and Melissa’s wedding day at the stunning Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station started with a bit of unexpected drama. The East Haddam Bridge, a crucial artery connecting the bride and several vendors to the venue, unexpectedly collapsed! What could have been a disastrous start transformed into a testament to the couple’s resilience and the incredible adaptability of their wedding team. This blog post will showcase the beauty of their day, the magic of Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station as a wedding venue, and the importance of a flexible and creative approach to wedding photography.
A Wedding Day Detour: Embracing the Unexpected
The morning unfolded with a thrilling twist. With the bridge out, Melissa found herself stranded on the wrong side of the Connecticut River, along with some key vendors. Instead of panic, there was quick thinking. A boat ride across the river, followed by a spirited golf cart journey, delivered the bride to the venue, albeit in a rather unconventional fashion! This unexpected adventure only added to the unique story of their wedding day. My role as the photographer shifted into high gear; I navigated a circuitous route, driving up to Middletown and then down Route 9 to arrive safely at Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, making sure to document the entire journey.
