C & C: Fall Riverview Wedding
Ahhhh! I’m so excited to share the images from Chris & Colleen’s beautiful fall wedding at The Riverview in Simsbury! These two are one of the sweetest couples I have met. Throughout their wedding journey I had the pleasure of getting to know them – from their engagement session in Boston to their wedding at The Riverview it was a amazing.
We started the day off in a beautiful Airbnb where Colleen got ready. I’m pretty sure the building used to be a barn but they re-did the entire interior while keeping the charm and features of the barn such as the silo where we hung the dress from. In order to get the shot where you see the hanging lights in the frame with the dress I had to climb up onto a stone column in the room to get the downward angle – scary but fun!
Once Colleen was into her dress and ready to go we lined up the bridesmaids at the bottom of the stairs for a reveal with them. I love seeing the reactions of bridesmaids when they see the bride for the first time. I am in love these moments.
After everyone was finished getting ready we went over to the church for their unplugged ceremony – which is the best idea. I feel that this is so important I will have to revisit it with its own blog post some day. But for now I’ll just say it’s so nice having all of the guests living in the moment and not hidden behind a phone.
Before heading back to the Airbnb for some bridal party photos we went down the street to a little park which had beautiful foliage and a gazebo. We spent a little time here before loading back up and heading out. We had some magical light filtering through the trees where you’ll see Colleen twirling with her bouquet.
We finished up the family formals as the sun was setting at the Riverview. After playing down by the river Chris & Colleen practiced their first dance outside under the tent before heading in for intros.
