Southport Engagement Session
Such a beautiful afternoon for Matt & Katie’s Southport engagement session! We were originally going to have there session a week earlier but the storms rolled in and took down a tree at their house. We figured this wouldn’t make for the best engagement photos.
I’ve known Matt for a while through the fire department that we both belong to. I was without a doubt excited when he asked me to be the photographer for his Southport engagement session and wedding. He is one of the kindest people that I know and has one of the biggest hearts.
We started with Matt, Katie and their dog NEMA in Southport which, if you’ve never been there, is absolutely beautiful. The homes in the area by the water make for the perfect backdrop.
After dropping off NEMA at home we ventured off to Fayerweather Lighthouse, which is where I had the honor of capturing Matt’s proposal! The park happened to just be closing as we arrived. We thought of a quick plan B and drove around down to the water where we had an awesome sunset. So even though our original plan didn’t pan out we didn’t let that hold us back.
Once the sun dropped down we headed back to their home in Fairfield for some really cool shots in their garage workshop. It’s so awesome that these two enjoy building things together. They worked on some decorations for their wedding, which I won’t show you as it’s a surprise. These two are just perfect for each other and I am thrilled to photograph their wedding in October!
