Saybrook Point Inn Wedding
What a beautiful day we had for Mike & Emily’s Saybrook Point Inn wedding! I started out the day just in time to catch Emily finishing up getting ready and putting on her dress. This was great since we got to have a first look with her dad as well as have her parents read a card she wrote for them. One suggestion here is to always make sure your photographer is there to capture these moments as they are truly beautiful!
We went down onto the docks for Mike & Emily’s first look. The sun was just about over head but we were able to get some nice back lighting for this. I always joke that you should be blinded by the beauty and not the sun, but it’s true. We took a short stroll on the docks to get some portraits of just the couple before the bridal party joined us for some more.
The ceremony was amazing overlooking the water with al of the boats in the background. The guests were serenaded by Jeff Ladd as they arrived for the ceremony. If you’ve never hear of Jeff, I would highly recommend checking him out as he is an awesome musician.
After the ceremony Mike & Emily joined in on cocktail hour with their friends and family. This is a great bonus to having a first look. Just before intros we grabbed the bridal party for one more shot where the ceremony was, where we had the time to set up a light.
During the reception we went back out around sunset to grab some more photos. The sunset certainly did not disappoint. While we were walking around on the docks we met some nice people on a boat who were cooking some burgers, they smelled great. On our way back, taking photos on the docks, the owner come over to us and offered up his boat for photos! This was awesome and definitely something we are grateful for as we had a perfect setting and such a great view.
