S & L: TPC River Highlands Wedding

Stephen & Lauren’s TPC River Highlands wedding was absolutely beautiful! The amazing vendor team made is such a fun wedding to photograph with a lot of laughs.

We started out the day with Lauren getting ready at her parent’s house. This house was a dream to photograph in. The room that Lauren put on her dress had such amazing light to work with which always makes this easier, especially when moving around. I love when organic moments present themselves and trying to frame and capture them. As Lauren was getting ready her mom decided to look in through the edge of the french doors and I just love how this image turned out – really helps to tell them story.

Once everyone was ready we headed over to Saint Sebastian Church in Middletown where I got to capture another of my favorite images – Lauren walking up the stairs to the church with her bridesmaids. It’s nice to have time to be able to move around and try and get unique angles. The inside of this church was beautiful, I love all of the detail that they included and of course it’s always nice when churches have enough ambient light – I don’t like using flash during ceremonies since I don’t like to be a distraction as the focus should be on the ceremony and the couple.

This was my first time photographing at TPC River Highlands and it was such a fun venue. I love being able to take the carts out onto the course to find some cool locations for portraits. We waited til the sun got a little lower in the sky as the light is much nicer to work with. We went down to the bridge and the pond which made for a nice backdrop. Also, another benefit to gold courses is the rolling hills since it fun to get low and frame the couple against the open sky – this really helps to draw the eye to the couple.
