N & K: Fall Riverfront Wedding
What a beautiful day we had for a wedding for Nick & Kristin’s fall riverfront wedding at the Hartford Boathouse! I was a little nervous that the Hartford Marathon might impact our travel plans for their big day but fortunately it had passed before we had to travel from the hotel to the Hartford Boathouse.
We started out the day at the hotel which had tons of space for the girls to get ready in. When I first arrived I noticed a beautiful mirror on the wall that I later used to frame Kristin as she was getting the final touches of her makeup done. We moved over by the large windows to have her mom help put on her dress. The light coming in was amazing to work with!
After Kristin was ready to go we went over to the Hartford Boathouse for her first look with Nick. I love these moments! We had their first look under some big oak trees overlooking the Connecticut River. From there we went for a little walk down a path into the woods for a little alone time and some photos of just them. The fall foliage made for a nice backdrop for these.
It was nice to have a good amount of time before the ceremony to take the family formals so that they could spend time with family and friends during their cocktail hour. The ceremony was beautiful and had the river in the background. They even had their dog be a part of the ceremony which was a little scary as he barrelled down the aisle towards me – He is a big dog!
After the ceremony we took another little walk before cocktail hour to get some more pictures. It was nice to get this time to relax and get ready for the party.
