Hammonassett Beach Engagement Session
Hammonassett Beach State Park Engagement Session: Nick & Jenna
This was the first time that I had been to Hammonassett State Beach for an engagement session and it has a lot to offer! We met at the Meig’s Point Nature Center where I got to meet Murry, their dog who was getting some energy out before the session. This is a great idea for anyone planning to bring their 4 legged friends with them.
Within a short walk there was a jetty, sandy beach, rocks and some drift wood! We found a nice big flat rock to take some pictures with Murry before he hung out with his grandparents. I love to begin engagement sessions with some walking images. This is a great way to break the ice and get couples comfortable in front of the camera. This way I can keep some distance before diving right in.
I love photographing on jetty’s as they are natural leading lines to the couple. Your eye just follows it into the photo. It also helps that they are reasonably flat so walking across them is easy.
It’s always fun to hop around in the rocks and even more phone when you have an adventurous couple to do it with. There was this really cool piece of drift wood that was stuck in the rocks. It made for a nice bench to get some photos on.
Check out some of their images below then head on over to see some of my other posts from recent sessions.
